About James McClary

James McClary, baritone, received his Bachelor's in Vocal Music Education from the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga. He has received certification in the Kodály music pedagogical method from the Kodály Institute at the University of Tennessee Chattanooga. He currently serves on the board of the Southeast Chapter of Kodály Educators and has been a program director of their annual Choir Sharing Program.

He has taught music since 2010, and during that time has co-lead teacher clinics on anatomy of the human voice and integration of technology in the music classroom. His students have participated in the National Association for Music Educator's (NAfME) World's Largest Concert, and have conducted several programmatic variations on seasonal, historical and theatrical music. He has served as a guest clinician at Hamilton Sings! 2015 and 2016, where he taught student sessions on using the maypole in dance.

Mr. McClary is an active member of Abba's House Zadok Ministries choir and has been a participant in the Chattanooga Choral Arts and the UTC Master Chorale.

He enjoys playing guitar and keyboard, watching a variety of action/adventure and animated films and working on various DIY home improvement projects.

He lives in Soddy Daisy with his wife Virginia, daughters Camille and Jemima, sons Peter and Quinn, three pigs, a dog, and a cat.
